Every Halloween, Satan’s Affair will come to you.
We travel the country, offering terrifying haunted houses, thrilling rides and the tastiest food. And with every passing town, I cleanse this world, one execution at a time.
I hide within the walls, casting my judgement for those that reek of evil, singing lullabies to their rotting souls.
Once you’ve been chosen, there’s no escaping my henchmen—they cater to my every desire.
You can run and you can hide, but it only excites me.
Come.
Take a walk through my dollhouse, where your screams will blend and your cute little pleas will go unanswered.
But I can’t promise it’ll be over quickly…

1. D.L. HOWE reviews for Satan’s Affair
There’s just something about a maniacal, blood thirsty girl that makes me happy. The more psychotic, the better and Sibel certainly doesn’t disappoint.
I’m loving Ms Carlton’s writing style, she’s very easy to read and she paints the perfect picture. As the story progresses I can see it so well it’s like I’m actually there. It’s funny when you can relate to an MC like this because I’m not afraid of her whatsoever, I’m with her every step of the way.
As an immense fan of revenge, I’ll always be down for a punishment that fits the crime or worse. As is the case with the mace; take it all bitch! (I know I have issues.)
It does start to feel a bit repetitive by the second half. I’m also kind of sad that I don’t find the RH element very scintillating, it feels rather rote.
Zade was a much needed addition that added just enough spice to keep this interesting. (I was gonna wait to read Haunting Adeline but not now. Cliffhanger be damned.)
Awesome plot twist in the epilogue, not that it’s the most original but made it interesting. The big question is what did Zade see?
2. MADISON reviews for Satan’s Affair
I started this book thinking, “WTF am I reading?” And ended it thinking, “I am obssessed with this unhinged doll-chick.” We love character growth in this house.
No but really…Sibby can hack me up any day and I would be happy.
3. CRYSTAL reviews for Satan’s Affair
Hello, Wes Craven; meet Rob Zombie and walk through the Great American Nightmare, and we have our psychopath named Sibby with her henchmen. These are the vibes I got from this novella. Such great vibes. Satan’s Affair is a dark erotica novella, which I devoured and (some may think its a horror novella)tremendously enjoyed.
Sibby has a unique way of deciphering evil and expunging them from this world with her henchmen in tow. She is crazy and rightfuly so.. The setting is a Haunted traveling carnival, and what better way to rid evil.
“I’m not crazy!” I screech. I take a deep, calming breath and arrange the smile back on my face. “I’m just passionate.”
I love a good blood thrusty heroine and H.D. Carlton nailed it!!!!. I absoutly love where she went in this novella. This book is full of blood, gore, guts, and steam. Heed the trigger warning it’s not for the faint of heart. I can not say enough how highly I recommend this book if you have love all things dark. The cover is a work of art and a must to add to my bookshelve.
4. ROBYN SIMMONS reviews for Satan’s Affair
Dark, Captivating, and Unforgettable
Satan’s Affair by H.D. Carlton is a dark, thrilling, and intense read that grips you from start to finish. The story is not for the faint of heart, with its complex characters and twisted plotlines, but it is incredibly well-written and keeps you hooked the entire time.
The main characters are multi-dimensional, and their complicated relationship is both gripping and unsettling. Carlton does an excellent job of delving into the darker aspects of human nature while still maintaining a deep emotional connection with the reader. The tension between the characters is palpable, and I couldn’t put the book down.
The pacing of the story is spot on, and the twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat. There are moments of heartbreak, shock, and suspense that make this book stand out in the dark romance and psychological thriller genres.
While it might not be for everyone due to its mature and intense themes, if you’re a fan of dark, gritty, and thought-provoking stories, Satan’s Affair is a must-read. H.D. Carlton’s writing is masterful, and I can’t wait to read more from her!
5. BOBBY MOLINA reviews for Satan’s Affair
I purchased this book because I kept seeing Haunting Adeline on TikTok and I was curious about that book. After some research I learned that Satan’s Affair was a sequel to the Cat and Mouse Duet. So after receiving it I immediately started reading it and had a hard time putting it down.
Needless to say I finished the 144 page book within 24 hours of it coming into my possession.
I have never read anything like this book before. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. It is full of violence, gore, torture, sexually explicit situations, and it touches on rape, child abuse, and sex trafficking.
One of the more brutal scenes in the book almost made me stop reading it but I am glad that that the scene wasn’t drawn out and ended quickly.
After that the rest of the book seemed tame in comparison.
I absolutely loved the twist ending, and I am curious and eager to read the rest of the books set in this universe.
I gave the book 4 stars due to a couple of typos and the one scene I could have done without. However I found it very intriguing and entertaining.
6. MARISSA reviews for Satan’s Affair
Dark, twisted, crazy but addictive book
Satans Affair was definitely a dark one. May even be the darkest I’ve read yet (but I just started with the dark romance). Sibby went through a lot of trauma because of her dad and his cult. After killing her dad, she starts living in a haunted house that travels. She senses evil on people and exterminates it from the world. Halfway through the book, she meets Zade from Haunting Adeline and it was chilling to read what they did to the four men from her view. After getting caught and put into a mental hospital, she gets told her henchman are mannequins and that sets her off to no end. I can’t wait to finish Sibbys story!!
7. ASHLEY LELEUX reviews for Satan’s Affair
Not for everybody.
So this book was interesting, to say the least. It was recommended to read it before H.A. and I must say I truly hope there is a connection between the two. Since it was a required read. I don’t really have triggers. But even I had to take a moment in some chapters. So read the T.W. for real, and then hold on for a crazy read. I will say this it felt left open to go into another book, and I wonder if that’s the recommended book or a completely different book. I guess I’ll find out in a few. Good luck on this literature journey. You will need it. Before I go thou, I will say beside my personal opinion about the story. I loved the writing style it’s self. Especially towards the end. Thou I figured it out with in 2 chapters, it was nice to be validated in my theory.
8. CASSANDRA JONES reviews for Satan’s Affair
Take the plunge! 🫣🖤
I finally did it. I finally started my journey through HD Carlton’s writing & worlds. I’ve avoided this series for the past year because I was caught up in other giant series and honestly nervous this wasn’t going to live up to the hype.. but I am floored! I’m starting the Cat & Mouse duet right after I finish this review and I can NOT wait. Sibby had me captivated from the first chapter. I can’t wait to see if she makes any appearances in the next books. This was a short, quick read for me but no less entertaining. I highly recommend for you to take the plunge and pick this up if you’ve been putting it off like I was. SO GOOD!
9. MEG reviews for Satan’s Affair
reread feb. 4,2024:
still in love with my home girl sibby and can’t wait until her next book comes out 🫶🏼
review oct. 14, 2023:
honestly, i started this book with not knowing what to expect. i knew i wanted to read the cat & mouse duet but this was recommended first, so i of course dove in.
this book caught my attention from the first page and i could not put it down. i had to finish it and see how it played.
sibby, ah, as much as her character is crazed, you feel so many emotions for her between what she is currently doing and everything she endured through the years. all around, a great character and i cannot wait for her second book to come.
please please please read the trigger warnings though before reading.
10. ASH reviews for Satan’s Affair
I don’t what it says about me that I kind of loved Sibby who is an admitted serial killer. 😅 I really do like her though. I feel for all the things she went through but I found her whole storyline in this book really interesting.
I enjoyed this book. It’s super dark and not for everyone but I loved the way it unraveled slowly. You get the glimpses of her childhood to better understand why she is the way she is. Then the ending was really just perfect to me. It was unexpected to me and I love when that happens 🙂
Def read trigger warnings if you have them because this does get pretty detailed in a gnarly way.
I haven’t read Haunting Adeline or Hunting Adeline yet but I’m about to go do that now 🖤
III. Satan’s Affair Quotes by H. D. Carlton
The best book quotes from Satan’s Affair by H. D. Carlton
“I’m not crazy!” I screech. I take a deep, calming breath and arrange the smile back on my face. “I’m just passionate.”
“You can’t hide from fate. That’s the funny thing about destiny, even if you try to escape it, it will always find you.”
“But you can’t silence heartbreak. It’s loud and painful. Even after you grieve and heal, it lingers in the background, sliding back into your life just when you think you’ve overcome it.”
“I’ll never know the exact moment she took her last breath. I’ll never know why she chose to kill herself rather than running away with me. Or why death was more appealing than a life with me. But what hurt most is knowing that I spent the entire night staring at my mother’s dead body and never even realized it.”
“How can you tell me I’m not seeing what I’m seeing, just because you can’t see it, too? Why do the shortsighted people get to claim what is and isn’t sane?”
“Crazy people are the most interesting people in the world if you’d just let them be who they are. Medicating and drugging people until they’re mindless zombies would make anyone depressed, you dumb bitch.”
“You’re an interesting person, Sibby. But I’m going to need you to calm the fuck down. I can’t interrogate in peace when you’re over there stabbing someone like a cracked-out banshee, you feel me?”
“He looks at me like I’m insane. That hurts my feelings.”
“Flowers can’t survive in a place like this.”
“You’re not normal?” I ask, my curiosity piquing. “The interesting people never are, demon slayer.”
“Just like Lucifer with Eve. She didn’t eat an apple. Lucifer fucked her and ruined her for all men. And then tossed her aside because she could never be Lilith.”
“The outsiders—people that think they’re normal—they don’t understand people like us. We see the world for what it is. This Earth is layered, just like an onion, and we’re only living in one of those layers.”
“Who says you have to choose? Kill them all, Sibby.”
“One.” Stab. A grunt punctuates my next word, “Two.” Stab. Another grunt. “Freddy’s coming for you,” I sing, high-pitched and child-like. Blood spurts from his stab wounds,”
“He’s not God’s disciple. He’s Lucifer’s little bitch.”
“Maybe people with dark souls aren’t all bad. Just because they’re dark, that doesn’t mean they’re not redeemable. That doesn’t mean there isn’t good in there.”
“My hand trembles with the need to curl a knife in my fist and plunge it deep into someone’s throat. I long to hear the gurgling as they choke on their blood. Their dull eyes, wide with fear. I can almost see their lives flashing in their dilated irises.”
“Funny how something so painful will heal and disappear like it didn’t nearly bring me to my knees.”
“Mortis always says I have the smile of an angel. Demons love angels. They always want what they can never have. They love to taint what’s pure.”
“There’s no redemption for people like Gary. They never learn their lesson. They get a slap on the wrist and then go on with their lives, torturing women for the sake of inflating their self-worth. Truth is, they don’t have any worth, and they know that.”
“Old men that have so much money, they’ve grown bored with life. There’s nothing that excites them anymore. Nothing, except little helpless girls and boys, and their cries of pain.”
“Crazy people are the most interesting people in the world if you’d just let them be who they are.”
“Sit on my fucking cock, Sibby. Now.”
“I have the feeling he’s going to call the rest of my henchmen in soon to try and relax me. They know when they gang up on me, all their cocks surrounding me—I can’t resist.”
“She must be fooled by the bad boy persona. Maybe she has a sad homelife, restricted from doing things that make her happy, so she’s trying to find life and a thrill in someone dangerous. If only it means she feels a little less dead inside.”
“It’s always my favorite part when they think they have a chance of escape. To see the hope slowly fade out of their eyes when they realize there’s no chance of them getting past my henchmen.”
“You’re so fucking tight,” Baine murmurs, his words dipped in sin. “Covered in blood, looking like a fucking goddess of death.”
“She tastes so good too,” Timothy sighs around my center, nearly grinding his lips against me.”“Sometimes, when I’m really bored, I’ll cut the skin from whatever demon I’ve cast judgement on and use their skin as a dress.”
“Normal? What does normal even mean? Normal is subjective.”
“When you carry a demon in your soul, it rots you from the inside out.”
